Allahabad
("Prince Ali")
Panthera tigris
- TIGER

Ali was born in 1993. His sister Jasmine
and brother Shirkon were placed in other zoos,
as babies, to spread out the
gene pool. Shirkon was the star with Russell Crow in the movie “Gladiator”.
Being cubs of Stoli & Lil, these are
also Heterozygous Golden Tigers,
meaning they carry the rare White Tiger
gene.
Speaking of Movie Stars,
many of the animals here at the zoo
you have probably seen and never
realized it.
Cat Tales is very
involved in the filming of animal sequences used in feature films,
and
television programs. Our cats have been seen
on Discovery Channel,
Animal Planet, National Geographic, various PBS Networks and
television commercials.
Any money received for commercial work goes directly
back to animal care.
All work done for non-profit groups is donated by our
facility. Also, while on the subject of donations,
Cat Tales donates an
average of $70,000.00 in passes and memberships to local charities every
year.
If you have an
organization that may benefit from our program please contact the zoo office
for details.
Ali is not quite as large
as his 650 pound father Stoli, but he does weigh in at approximately 600
pounds.
The average size for a
male Bengal Tiger in the wild is 400-500 pounds.
Ali is one of the cats that
you can hand feed on a “Big Cat Adventure”
when you visit the Zoo in person.
