Bam Bam
South American Blue & Gold Macaw

If ever there was a zoo clown, then this South American Macaw is the model
they used.
Bam Bam was orphaned several years ago and became an immediate hit with the
entire staff.
He lives in the main office and spends his day talking to everyone that
comes in.
When things become quiet, he will start showing off to Margaret, the office
manager.
They have a great relationship and the high point of the day is when they
eat lunch together.
He thinks that her sandwich or fresh veggies are much more fun that the diet
prepared by the zoo kitchen.
Look up the word "spoiled" in the dictionary and you will most likely see
Bam Bam's picture.
Widely distributed in South America: Brazil; Paraguay; Bolivia; Peru;
Columbia and in the North to Panama;
Venezuela; Trinidad; Guyana; Surinam and French Guyana.
The Blue & Gold Macaw was placed on the Endangered Species List in 1981.
