Lil
Panthera tigris
- TIGER

Stoli and Lil
known here, at the Zoo, as the “$50,000.00” Bengal Tigers.
Sadly, Stoli passed away March 25th,
2000. Leaving Lil a single mom.
They
were purchased by a man who thought he could raise them in his house.
Even
though it is illegal to own Endangered Species,
he found a breeder in Texas
who sold him two cubs.
He
soon realized that Tigers will “trash” a house,
so he built a home for them
in his back yard.
When
Stoli and Lil were 6 months old, he bought a new Mercedes Convertible.
He
decided to take Stoli for a ride in his new car. Once he got into the car,
he realized that he had left his cellular phone in the
house.
He decided to lock Stoli in the car and grab the phone.
Stoli, had no
patience and proceeded to eat the seats, the
dash, the door panels,
tear a hole through the roof, jump out and put a 80
pound tiger dent in the front hood of this new car.
Stoli
did $20,000 worth of damage in fewer than 5 minutes.
The authorities learned
he had tigers so Cat
Tales was asked to adopt them.
Tigers
have 5 times the strength, pound for pound as an athlete.
A 500
pound tiger is stronger than a professional football team.
If one ran and
hit you, it
would be like stepping in front of a car, going 35 mph.
Once downed, you
would be faced with 3 1/2 inch canines and 18
razor sharp claws.
Lil is a
Heterozygous Golden Tigers, meaning she carries the rare White Tiger gene.
Stoli also carried
the Heterozygous gene.
All of their
offspring carry this rare recessive gene.
