Oso-Much-Trouble
Ursus
americanus pallas -
American Black Bear

This little bear
came to the Zoo after the Wildlife Department received a call about a "bear
in a bathtub".
He was most likely
born in February 2004, but for unknown reasons
he weighed only 20
pounds in February 2005.
Oso, which means
bear in Spanish, was sick upon arrival, but his health has steadily
improved.
He is on an enriched
diet and is gaining weight.
(Director's note: he
received his name, Oso-Much-Trouble,
because like all
bears he is cunning and mischievous.)
