Amala is eight years old and was once kept as a pet by a private owner. Despite managing to litter box train her, they decided that she was too wild for them to keep. They gave her up to Fish and Wildlife who contacted us to see if we could take her in. Adopting her was an easy choice. Over the years she's come out of her shell and become less shy, though she's very territorial and prefers if we match her schedule and her needs. We treat Amala very gently, and she's become fond of many of our keepers.
