At Cat Tales Wildlife Academy, education begins with observation, responsibility, and respect for wildlife.
Licensed by the Washington Workforce Training & Education Board, our hands-on training programs combine real-world animal care experience with professional instruction in zoological operations, wildlife management, protected contact safety, enrichment, habitat maintenance, behavioral observation, and compassionate care.
Students train alongside experienced staff while working with rescued, retired, and non-releasable wildlife in a professional sanctuary environment.
Whether you are preparing for a career in animal care, exploring wildlife sciences, gaining volunteer experience, or bringing a class for an educational tour, the Wildlife Academy provides meaningful opportunities to learn from the animals in our care.

- Habitat management
- Enrichment and welfare
- Wildlife safety protocols
- Professional teamwork and leadership
Our program emphasizes observation-based animal care, protected contact practices, and the daily realities of working in a zoological setting.
Internships & Volunteer Opportunities
Internships
Our internships provide immersive learning opportunities for students pursuing studies in biology, zoology, wildlife management, veterinary pathways, and conservation-related fields.
Interns gain practical experience while supporting the daily care and management of resident wildlife.
Volunteer
Volunteers play an important role in supporting animal care, guest experiences, educational programs, and facility operations.
Whether helping behind the scenes or assisting during public hours, volunteers become part of the mission of providing lifelong compassionate care for wildlife who cannot return to the wild.
