PLAN AHEAD
Cat Tales is primarily an outdoor wildlife facility, so we recommend checking the weather before your visit and dressing appropriately for the season. Summers can be warm, and winters may include snow, ice, or muddy conditions. Some animals may choose to rest in shaded or sheltered areas during extreme weather.
Cat Tales features outdoor gravel and hard-packed pathways throughout much of the facility. While many areas are accessible to strollers and mobility devices, uneven terrain and seasonal weather conditions may affect ease of travel in some locations.
Free on-site parking is available for all guests.
Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended. Closed-toe shoes are best for gravel pathways, uneven terrain, and changing seasonal conditions.
Educational animal encounters are typically available earlier in the day and may conclude by approximately 3:30 PM. Animal participation is always voluntary and may vary depending on weather, temperatures, activity levels, and the individual preferences of each animal.
Animal activity naturally changes throughout the year. Some species are more active during cooler temperatures, while others may rest during warmer parts of the day. Seasonal enrichment, weather conditions, and natural behaviors all contribute to unique experiences throughout the year.
Outside food and beverages are welcome in designated guest areas. Please help us protect the animals by keeping food secured, cleaning up after yourself, and never throwing food or objects into animal habitats.
Photography is welcome throughout the facility. Cat Tales offers many close-up viewing opportunities, with some habitats allowing guests to observe animals from approximately 15 feet away. The natural setting also provides great opportunities for family photos and memorable wildlife-themed pictures. For the safety and comfort of the animals, please avoid using flash photography during close encounters or educational presentations.
Pets are not permitted at Cat Tales Wildlife Center.
Trained service animals are permitted in accordance with ADA requirements. Because Cat Tales is a close-viewing wildlife facility with natural predator behaviors and narrow looping pathways, some animals may react strongly to the presence of dogs.
Guests visiting with a service animal are strongly encouraged to contact us prior to their visit so staff can help provide the safest and most enjoyable experience possible for guests, service animals, staff, and resident wildlife.
For guest convenience, an attended kennel area may be available near the admissions area during portions of the visit if needed.
Cat Tales Wildlife Center is a non-smoking and non-vaping facility. For the safety of our animals, guests, staff, and the surrounding environment, smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the grounds.
For the safety and comfort of guests, staff, and animals, outside alcohol is not permitted on the grounds unless approved as part of a scheduled private event or special program.
“Everyone I encountered in the park was so kind, friendly and knowledgeable. And the variety in the gift shop is incredible. No matter your budget, there is a trinket you can take home to commemorate your experience and the fact that the proceeds go right back into the park…just, wow. Thank you all for the wonderful work you are doing and sharing it with the public. 🩷 It was my first time visiting and I was so happy.”
