Operations Manager
Randy is a seasoned Operations Manager with extensive experience in operations management, animal care, facilities maintenance, and habitat construction. Since April 2019, Randy has been the driving force behind the seamless functioning of Cat Tales Wildlife Center, ensuring that both the front and back-of-house operations run smoothly year-round. His expertise spans the management of facility maintenance through diverse weather conditions, from landscape and irrigation duties to snow and ice management.
Randy is not only responsible for the upkeep and repair of aging exhibits but also for designing and constructing new wildlife habitat enclosures that meet regulatory standards. His role is crucial in maintaining the safety and comfort of the center’s wildlife, as well as enhancing the experience for staff and guests alike. Additionally, Randy imparts valuable skills to students and interns, teaching them the ins and outs of exhibit and grounds maintenance, as well as practical skills in tool operations and preventative maintenance.
Prior to his role at Cat Tales, Randy managed warehouse and sales operations for Stern Produce Company, where he ensured quality control, managed regional operations, and coordinated daily delivery routes. His diverse background also includes experience in painting, construction, and masonry, where he led teams and completed a variety of projects ranging from small tasks to large-scale homes.
Randy’s dedication to his work and his comprehensive skill set make him an invaluable asset to Cat Tales Wildlife Center, where he continues to contribute to the well-being of the animals and the efficiency of the center’s operations.
