Unique experiences up close with carnivores, animals, and educational STEAM activities. Your chance to be a zookeeper! Learn with us through activities involving movement, stories, and animals – all about conservation, animal care, and all things biology, education, math, arts, physical science, and more! 

Each Summer Camp is Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Each camp has a limit of 12 campers and will fill up Fast!

Cost per Summer Camp for each camper is $250 for Non-Members and $200 for Members.

The Superpowers of the Animal Kingdom:

K thru 1st Grade (ages 5-7 years) — June 18 – 22, 2024

Join us on a magical adventure as we explore the world of animal senses. Through creative hands-on activities based on sight, sound, touch, and smell, our zookeepers-in-training will ignite their curiosity and learn what makes each animal at Cat Tales a star. Come see where education meets fascination!

Curious Creatures & Fearsome Features:

2nd – 4th Grades (ages 8-11 years) — June 25 – 29, 2024

Come dive into a week of learning what it takes to be a zookeeper and how to care for our largest to our smallest of animals. We will also have the exciting opportunity to meet some feathered friends and learn about their key role in the environment.

Wildlife Warriors:

5th – 7th Grades (ages 12-15 years) — July 2 – 6, 2024

Wildlife warrior campers will learn about the surrounding forests and their ecosystems. They will explore how our animals fit into the food web, their survival techniques and how humankind has impacted nature as a whole.

Grossology & Animal Science:

5th – 7th Grades (ages 12-15 years) — July 16 – 20, 2024

Envisioning a future in STEAM or with animals? Grow your inner scientist with habitat engagement, animal enrichment building, DNA labs, and learning about the hard work behind taking care of animals at a zoo and in wildlife conservation! Campers will get to engage with poop, insects, animal habitats, DNA, and more!

K thru 1st Grade (ages 5-7 years) — July 23 – 27, 2024
Embark on an exciting adventure into the heart of nature, exploring the fascinating world of plants, animals, and their homes. From uncovering secret nooks where creatures live to learning how everything in nature is connected, our young campers will turn into champions of the earth through interactive activities, fun games, and explorations outdoors.

Evolution Explorers:

5th – 7th Grades (ages 12-15 years) — July 30 – Aug 3, 2024

Our STEAM summer day camp at the Wildlife Center offers an exciting journey back in time to discover the prehistoric forebears of the park’s wildlife, ranging from tigers and pumas to foxes and bears. Additionally, we’ll delve into the world of other ancient, now-extinct species. Participants will embark on a fascinating exploration of how these early creatures evolved and adapted over the ages, shaping them into the animals we recognize today.

Big Cats to Small Science: Zookeeper Training

2nd – 4th Grades (ages 8-11 years) — Aug 20 – 24, 2024

Your chance to put your STEAM skills to work as a zookeeper-in-training! We will spend the days behind the scenes, learning about what it takes to be a zookeeper, and include animal-themed science and art lessons. Join us for animal care and science fun!
