Create a lasting future for rescued wildlife

For more than 35 years, Cat Tales Wildlife Center has provided lifelong care for rescued wild animals who cannot return to the wild. Your legacy gift helps ensure that animals like tigers, bobcats, lynx, pumas, foxes, raccoons, wolfdogs, coyotes, servals, and black bears continue to receive safe housing, daily care, nutrition, veterinary support, enrichment, and compassionate lifelong sanctuary.

Legacy giving is a meaningful way to protect the future of Cat Tales while honoring your values, your family, or a beloved animal. Gifts may be made during your lifetime or planned as part of your estate.

Give through a donor-advised fund

A donor-advised fund, often called a DAF, is a charitable giving account that allows donors to recommend grants to nonprofit organizations they care about.

If you have a donor-advised fund through a community foundation, financial institution, or charitable sponsor, you may recommend a grant to Cat Tales Wildlife Center.

Please use the following information when recommending a DAF grant:

Legal Name: C A T T A L E S
Public Name: Cat Tales Wildlife Center
EIN: 91-1538226
Mailing Address: 17020 N Newport Hwy, Mead, WA 99021-9539
Website: www.cattales.org
Primary Contact: Lisa Grey / lisa.g@cattales.org / (808)866-2260

Please include your name and mailing address with your DAF recommendation if you would like us to thank you personally. Some DAF grants arrive anonymously or without donor contact information, and we are grateful for every gift, even when we are unable to thank the donor directly.

How DAF gifts help the animals

DAF grants may be used to support the greatest current needs of the animals, including:

  • Nutritious diets and species-specific food
  • Veterinary care and wellness monitoring
  • Habitat care, repairs, and safety improvements
  • Enrichment that supports natural behaviors
  • Daily animal care and keeper support
  • Public education and wildlife conservation awareness

Unrestricted gifts are especially helpful because they enable Cat Tales to respond to the animals’ most urgent needs year-round.

Make Cat Tales part of your legacy

You can also support Cat Tales Wildlife Center through planned or legacy giving. These gifts may include:

  • A gift in your will or living trust
  • A beneficiary designation from a retirement account, life insurance policy, bank account, or investment account
  • A donor-advised fund succession plan
  • A memorial or tribute gift
  • A recurring DAF grant
  • A charitable distribution or other planned gift arranged through your advisor

Your legacy gift can help provide long-term stability for the animals.

Naming Cat Tales in your donor-advised fund succession plan

Many donor-advised fund sponsors allow donors to name a nonprofit organization as a beneficiary or successor recipient for remaining funds. You may be able to name Cat Tales Wildlife Center to receive a future gift from your donor-advised fund, either as a one-time distribution or as ongoing annual support.

Please contact your DAF sponsor, community foundation, financial advisor, or estate planning professional to learn about the options available through your fund.

Sample language for your advisor

You may share the following language with your attorney, financial advisor, or donor-advised fund sponsor:

“I would like to support Cat Tales Zoological Training Center, doing business as Cat Tales Wildlife Center, a nonprofit wildlife sanctuary and teaching zoo located in Mead, Washington. The organization’s EIN is 91-1538226. My gift is intended to support lifelong care for rescued wildlife, including food, veterinary care, enrichment, habitat maintenance, and daily animal care.”
